A living bridge between the golden age of tango and the contemporary musical avant-garde.
Adrián Placenti is an undisputed leading figure in contemporary tango. Born in Buenos Aires, his musical identity blends European academic rigor, in-depth historical research, and the raw energy of Buenos Aires's cafés. Introduced to the genre by the legendary Sebastián Piana, Placenti has forged an international career that has earned him membership in the Latin Grammy Academy and the Recording Academy (Grammy), as well as being a full member of the Buenos Aires Academy of Lunfardo (Argentine Lunfardo).
His work not only preserves the heritage of tango, but also redefines it through chamber compositions, orchestral pieces, and avant-garde dance projects.
🌟 Milestones of an International Career
* Official Recognition: His concert tours and masterclasses at universities in the U.S. (Graceland, Baker, and studios in New York) and Europe were declared "Of High Artistic and Cultural Interest" by the Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
* Global Tours and Projections: He has performed on stages in France, Hungary, Austria, Italy, Slovenia, Germany, the Netherlands, and Croatia, bringing the language of tango piano to global audiences.
* Hugo del Carril Award: Awarded 1st Prize in Instrumental Composition for his tango "Ayer y hoy" (Yesterday and Today).
* Vanguard on the World Tour: Leading his own groups, such as the innovative Hipermaquinón Bailable, he is a prominent figure on the official circuit, including the 2026 BA Tango World Championship.

🎓 Academic Training and Rigor
Placenti complements his passion for popular music with a solid institutional background. He holds a degree in Composition (UCA) and is a National Professor of Piano (IUNA). His training includes:
* Scholarships from the Italian Cultural Institute to study composition with Giacomo Manzoni and electroacoustic music with Bianchinni.
* Orchestral Conducting studies with Maestro Mario Benzecry.
* Advanced studies in tango piano with Maestros Nicolás Ledesma and Oscar De Elía.
As a researcher, his work on the origins of tango—notably his critical study of the one-act play "Ensalada criolla" (1898)—has been published by various universities. Currently, he shares his experience with new generations as a Piano Teacher and Director of Children's and Youth Orchestras for the City of Buenos Aires (Bernasconi Institute and District 19).
